The HFA works closely with suppliers of halal meat, poultry, foodstuffs, ingredients of food, additives, colouring, emulsifiers, preservatives, pharmaceuticals and toiletries.
All endorsements are carried out on contractual and licensing basis. Accreditation and authentication of products as halal are subject to satisfactory audit and inspection. The supplier must prove that the manufacturers of products have the correct ingredients, admissible methods of manufacture and labelling systems as well as compliance of health and hygiene requirements.
The HFA inspectors at reasonable and agreed intervals audit and inspect specifications, ingredients and if required the plants from where their providers are obtaining the items. The HFA is prepared to sign a Bond of Confidentiality to protect mutual trading interests.
